My line on lower Climax.
It snowed 6" on Wednesday... I hit Climax Friday morning. I actually checked out Scottie's first. After a scenic ride up Chair 23, I discovered that the ridgeline down to Scotties was all rocky and sastrugi-fied. (That would explain the sign that says "Road Runner Reccommended".) The entrace to the run was more or less ice. Well, more. But not unmanageable. I got down to the 'soft stuff' that I spotted from Chair 2. It was soft, but covering some stealthy ice bumps.
Onto Climax... I nearly got blown over on the top, and as you might imagine, the bumps on Climax were firm (see upper right of image). It was hard work getting down, but the payoff was worth it! Satin-soft snow, with no surprises. It was so great, I had to document the moment.
